Burrito Deluxe, whose combined résumés
read like a 'Who's Who' of rock and roots music, is made up of
lead vocalist and guitarist Carlton Moody (The Moody Brothers);
electric guitarist and vocalist Walter Egan (Magnet and Steel,
Gram Parsons' Hearts on Fire); bassist Jeff "Stick"
Davis (Amazing Rhythm Aces, Brooklyn Cowboys); keyboardist
Richard Bell (Janis Joplin, The Band); and drummer Bryan Owings
(Buddy & Julie Miller, Delbert McClinton).
Disciples Of The Truth,
produced by Greg Archilla (Neil Young, Santana, Matchbox 20),
is released on the UK record buyers in January 2007 along with
a live concert DVD. The album opens with a mandolin and accordion
led mid-paced country rocker
"Out Of The Wilderness"
setting the passionate edge with its rocking country style.
Take a trip into the mountaintops where the stars put on a show
for free while you take "Front Row
Seats To Heaven" all with an expression of undying
love. The band crank up the power to full pelt with the title
cut, before slowing the pace right down with a stroll through
"Wichita".
With their latest single, "Encino",
the country-rock aces of Burrito Deluxe gallop toward the border
in a spellbinding portrayal of an 1880s outlaw offering an
all-round showcase for the skills of lead vocalist Carlton
Moody. In addition to singing and playing acoustic guitar, banjo
and mandolin, he co-wrote the song that is the follow-up single
to the international hit "Midnight At
A Red Light", telling of a young man's wild driving
encounter with a girl of the night.
Feel the passion of these master-craftsmen
with the effective use of highly effective pickers, the ringing
mandolin and deep-throated guitars dovetailing with the soft hum
of a Mississippi accordion. Disciples Of Truth ploughs through
the themes of love, passion and desperation held within the 12
tracks to be found here. If you like your country music Red-Hot
with a driving beat, Disciplines Of The
Truth is the CD you've been looking for as it takes off
like a V8 on rocket fuel!!!
