Johnny Gimble with the Time Jumpers Time Jumpers

Jumpin’ Time

Crosswind TTJ-2

A seasoned band of A-list touring and studio musicians take their place every Monday night at Nashville's legendary Station Inn. It started as a jam session in which off-the-road musicians got together to unwind by playing their favourite kinds of music on the club's quietest night of the week when only the most hardcore and appreciative fans were likely to show up. If nobody came they were quite content to play for each other's entertainment. As the word spread, some very famous folk began dropping in. Reba McEntire was so excited on her first visit that she joined the band with some Bob Wills tunes and Vince Gill often sits in. Following one of her concerts, Bonnie Raitt came by with her band and listened in awe as the Time Jumpers breezed through an unforgettable program of Western swing, jazz, country, pop and cowboy classics. On any given Monday, fans might find themselves mingling with the likes of Rhonda Vincent, Ronnie Dunn, Delbert McClinton, Pam Tillis, Mel Tillis, Sheryl Crow, Lee Ann Womack, Jimmy C. Newman and Linda Davis.

The Time Jumpers include lead vocalists Dawn Sears and Carolyn Martin, bassist Dennis Crouch; acoustic rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist "Ranger" Doug CD coverGreen (of Riders in the Sky); fiddlers Aubrey Haynie, Kenny Sears and Joe Spivey; pedal steel guitarist "Papa" John Hughey; lead electric guitarist Andy Reiss; accordionist Jeff Taylor and drummer Rick Vanaugh.

The CD and accompanying DVD each feature 26 classic numbers and recorded live at the Station Inn . The collection includes “Stompin’ At The Station,” “Honeysuckle Rose,” “Sugar Moon,” “Write Myself A Letter,” “Along The Navajo Trail,” “It’s All Your Fault,” “Pig Dog Hop,” “Leavin’ And Sayin’ Goodbye,” “Blues For Dixie,” Spade Cooley’s “Fidoodlin’,” “Bring It On Down To My House,” “Route 66” and Charlie Chapin’s “Smile.” Also to be found are “Roly Poly,” “South Of The Border,” “Jumpin’ Time,” “Bonaparte’s Retreat,” “My Confession,” “Give Me A Pinto Pal,” “Embraceable You,” “Cherokee Maiden,” “My Weakness Is Too Strong,” “All Of Me,” “Caravan,” “Sweet Memories” and “My Window Faces The South.” You don’t get better than this…a thrilling selection of western swing and cowboy songs music.
